Holtz Distress line to include 24 coordinating embossing powders. They match
the Distress Inks. These powders have a special property that creates
a textured look of days gone by. After embossing, you simply rub off
the special release crystals. The effect is truly vintage...
the texture is worn and weathered...the result is pure Distress!

Tips on working with Distress Embossing Powders

• Shake jar before each use to evenly distribute the release crystals.
• When you heat the embossed image it does not get shiney - this is a matte embossing powder.
  The color does darken when it is heated.
• You can emboss these with clear embossing ink or pigment inks but they are designed to be embossed on the Distress dye inks
  (yes these will work for embossing!) When embossed with embossing ink or dye inks you will get less or no rub off.
• Let embossed image cool before distressing.
  Lightly rub embossed image with Cut n' Dry Foam or your finger to remove the release crystals.
  Some colors will release more than others.
• Try them on light & dark paper, with different colored inks - have fun!

Embossing done with Distress Embossing Powders:

Daisy Trio image is stamped with Peeled Paint ink pad and then embossed with fired brick embossing powder.
I didn't heat it completely in the bottom left corner (let's pretend that was on purpose!) so more of the green shows through - I'm happy with the way this looks.
Image is stamped on a taupe piece of textured cardstock so the image didn't stamp solid.

• Crumple your tag & then flatten a bit (not completely).
• Cut a piece of sponge or foam & wipe Versamark embossing ink across it (so that high points are inked).
• Sprinkle on embossing powder and shake off excess. Heat.
• With another piece of sponge or foam rub distress ink in a complimentary color over the tag.
  This inks some of the unembossed areas and rubs off some of the embossing powder.
