Create box from Life’s Journey ruller paper according to instructions found here. www.origami-instructions.com/origami-box.html When making the bottom, trim 3/8” off each side so it will end up slightly smaller than the top.
Add twill tape to box using mini glue dots to adhere ribbon to itself, not the box.
Stamp medallion from Clearly Impressed Butterfly girl stamp set on caramel cardstock with burgundy ink. Distress edges.
Stamp butterfly from same set on white cardstock with black pigment ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder (EP). Alternately stamp with clear ink and use black EP. There are pro’s and con’s to each method. With clear EP, you will not see any stray bits of EP sticking to your project, however, if you overheat, the clear EP will melt past the black ink lines and you will not be able to use marker in these areas. If you use black EP, this will not be a problem, but you may see stray EP bits if you are not careful. You can remove stray EP with a small paint brush but as this design is so fine, that may be difficult. I used the first method.
Cut out the butterfly, omitting the antennae. Colour in the butterfly with rust and deep yellow markers. Replace the antennae with fine copper wire using a glue dot.
Bend the butterfly with wings up and place foam tape under the wings away from the body. this will give the butterfly a 3-D look. Adhere the medallion with foam tape.
