Pleats & Bows Layout

Materials:

• Melissa Frances Papers - Annabelle, Aubrey & Faith
• Light grey, ivory & red Cardstock
• 1/2" wide satin ribbon in red
• Decorative Scissors
• Photograph
• Adhesives including dimensional adhesive
• Scissors/paper trimmer

Instructions:

This layout is sized for 8x8 but can be easily adjusted for 6x6 or 12x12.

• The base paper is Aubrey and cut into an 8” square.
• For the left side decoration, cut red stripe paper 2 Ό” wide by 8”. Mount ½” from the left edge of the paper. To pleat the next layer- cut a strip of floral paper 1” wide. Starting from one end, score on the backside of the strip at Ύ” and then at Ό” from that first score. Repeat these two measurements to the end of the strips. Fold forward at the Ύ” mark and then fold backward at the Ό” mark, pleating to the end. If you need a second strip then score and fold as before. Layer and adhere the pleated strip on top of the red stripe paper. Layer a length of red ribbon on top of the pleating. Add a bow to the top.
• The photo in the sample is 3”x4”. The photo’s corners are covered with ribbon and the ribbon edges glued to the back . Mount the picture on floral paper cut 4”x5 ½”. Mount this on red cardstock cut slightly larger than the floral paper.
• Write the name on ivory card stock and trim with decorative scissors. Outline with matching marker if desired. Mount on red cardstock cut slightly larger than the name plate. Mount this under the picture.
