My Precious Boy Layout
Designed by Melanie Coombs
Materials:
Instructions:
- Use a sheet of bright red cardstock as the base of your layout.
- From the Basic Grey ‘Color Me Silly’ paper pack, select the sheets named
Wonder, Journey and Doodle. Using different size bowls, cups, etc., trace
three different sizes of circles on the non-patterned side of the papers (please
see photo for size ideas). Cut out the three circles and adhere to your layout,
approximately as shown.
- Take your chipboard tag and trace it on the reverse side of the ‘Wonder’ paper.
Cut out and adhere to the face of the tag. Use fine scissors to trim off any excess
paper. Cut a strip of red cardstock (about 1 inch high) and adhere to the centre
of the tag, as shown. Use scissors to trim off any excess paper. Cut a slightly
smaller strip from the ‘Journey’ paper and adhere to the centre of the first strip,
so a border of red shows on the top and bottom. Set aside.
- Use the Basic Grey Undressed Chipboard letters for the first word of the title.
Ink the letters with the red ink pad and allow time to dry. Then, adhere the letters
in the position shown. For the second word of the title (placed on the centre strip)
you can use die cut letters or stamp the word. I used my Quickutz for this word.
Use alphabet stamps and the black ink pad for the third word in the title and stamp
in the position shown. Tie a length of the striped ribbon through the hole in the
top of the tag. Set aside finished tag.
- Mat a 5x7 photo on the bright yellow Bazzill cardstock. Trim around the edges,
leaving a small border of the cardstock framing the photo. Adhere on top of the
circles on your layout, approximately in the position shown. Adhere the finished
tag right next to the photo, being sure to centre it.
- Cut three small strips, measuring approx. 2 inches long and a half inch high.
Using a different set of alphabet stamps than you used on the tag, stamp the
month the photo was taken on the first strip, the day on the second strip and the
year on the third strip. Adhere to your layout as shown.
